Give

Together we are creating a vibrant future for Irish heritage.

Your donations help us to carry out vital conservation work at Irish Heritage Trust properties and underpin our education and outreach work, preserving built and living history for future generations and benefiting local communities and Ireland as a whole.

Our Properties

We manage and care for Fota House, Arboretum & Gardens, Johnstown Castle Estate, Museum & Gardens and The National Famine Museum | Strokestown Park, as well as our headquarters at 11 Parnell Square East which is also an historic building in the heart of Georgian Dublin. We do this on the behalf of the people of Ireland on a non-profit basis.

Supporting Our Work

Direct donations, bequests, corporate donations and partnerships, all play an important part in funding our work as Ireland’s designated heritage management body. Thanks to you, we are able to open up some of Ireland’s most prestigious houses and gardens to the public and take on ambitious projects to help conserve and share diverse aspects of Irish heritage and culture in engaging ways.

The Greatest Need

If you wish, you can support the work of the Irish Heritage Trust by making a gift in an unrestricted way. This means your donation will be allocated to those projects and activities which are in the greatest need of support. Support of this kind enables the Irish Heritage Trust to respond to acute need, across all our properties, in the most agile way.

How To Join Others in Supporting the Work of the Irish Heritage Trust

There are a number of ways you can give.

Leave a Lasting Legacy

When you make a bequest to the Irish Heritage Trust, you are also honouring the past and making a gift to future generations.

  • Legacy gifts help us care for some of Ireland’s most significant heritage houses, and gardens, so that they are available for all to enjoy for centuries to come.
  • They support education projects that stimulate curiosity and learning about history and the natural world.
  • They underpin the community engagement work we pursue through our vibrant events and local volunteering programmes.

Dedicate Your Donation

If you would like to leave a gift in your will to the Irish Heritage Trust, you can choose to dedicate your bequest to a specific project or project type.

  • You may decide to focus your generosity on art or garden conservation or the preservation of the National Famine Archive, for example.
  • You can specify which of our properties you would like to benefit.
  • Or you may choose to make a broad contribution to the valuable work we do to bring Ireland’s history and contemporary culture and communities to life.
